2024 Trainer Trainee Checklist

Document: Frilly Filly Farm Trainer Trainee Card
Version: 5.1
Date: March 2024

Trainer Name: [ DisplayName ] ( UserName )

INTRODUCTION

In order to attain Trainer status, Trainees are required to learn to train ponies in the skills they need as ponies and to help them complete their Thoroughbred programs. Having been a pony is useful but not required, as long as the candidate can demonstrate the ability to teach the skills.

Some of the skills on this list are available through the experience of working with a Senior Trainer or a Stable Mistress or a Stable Master. Others will be presented in a class intended for Trainees hosted by an ST or SM. All Trainees should complete the BASIC TRAINER requirements below. Completing skills from the ADVANCED section is encouraged after the trainer has attained the Basic Trainer level.

HOW TO COMPLETE THIS CARD

Skills need to be witnessed and signed off by an SM or ST, and although trainees can learn from trainers, guidance from an ST or SM is preferred to maintain consistency. As the Trainee demonstrates the required skill, the SM or ST signs off with name and date under the skill description. Comments are optional.
